Shania Twain, Chris Stapleton Set for ‘Today’ Concert Series
NBC’s Today Show has announced its summer concert series and, as in years past, the lineup features a number of country-music names.
Zac Brown Band is the first country act to take the stage in Rockefeller Plaza. They’ll do so on May 16th. Thomas Rhett, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are also on the schedule for the series, which runs through August.
It’s Shania Twain and Chris Stapleton, however, who are arguably the most anticipated concerts. Twain will make a rare live-TV performance on June 16th, the same month that she’s set to release her new single “Life’s About to Get Good.” The Nineties superstar gave the song its live debut during last month’s Stagecoach Festival.
Stapleton, meanwhile, is slated to perform on July 18th. The songwriter released his new album From A Room: Volume 1, the follow-up to his 2015 breakout Traveller, last week.
Other non-country performers on Today‘s concert series include Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Miley Cyrus.
