Shania Twain Readies New Song ‘Life’s About to Get Good’
Shania Twain has finally announced details about her long-awaited new music. The country superstar, known for her Number One hits “Any Man of Mine,” “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” and “I’m Gonna Getcha Good!” will release the single “Life’s About to Get Good” to radio in June. A new album – her first in 15 years – will follow in September.
Twain, who recently appeared as a mentor on NBC’s The Voice, is set to debut the song during her performance this Saturday at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California. “I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out. I’m not in the mood to write a ‘feeling-sorry-for-myself’ song,” she said of writing “Life’s About to Get Good.” “You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”
Expectations are high for Twain’s new album, which was thought to be coming this summer. Prior to an appearance earlier this month on James Corden, she tweeted that she’d be discussing the upcoming music, but no details were announced. Twain performed a well-received two-year residency in Las Vegas from 2012 to 2014, and wrapped her Rock This Country Tour – supposedly her final large-scale tour – in 2015.
