Jay Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gorillaz Lead NYC Meadows Festival
Jay Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Gorillaz will headline the second annual Meadows Festival, which invades Queens, New York’s Citi Field September 15th to 17th.
This year’s lineup also includes Weezer, Run the Jewels, Future, Nas, Migos, M.I.A., Erykah Badu, Big Boi, De La Soul, Broken Social Scene, Ghostface Killah, Action Bronson, LL Cool J with DJ Z-Trip and many more.
Jay Z’s Tidal has also signed up to be the official livestream partner of this year’s fest. Tickets for the three-day fest go on sale May 10th at the Meadows’ site. The festival also claims to boast “the best food vendors in NYC, captivating street art and more aural delights.”
Bassnectar, Joey Bada$$, Tegan and Sarah, TV on the Radio, Big Gigantic, Sky Ferreira, 21 Savage and Sleigh Bells will also perform.
As with last year’s fest, the Meadows recruits some of Queens’ top artists, with Nas, LL Cool J, Bronson and Swet Shop Boys’ Heems representing the borough this year. The talents of other NYC boroughs are also featured with Jay Z, Ghostface Killah, Joey Bada$$, Flatbush Zombies and more.
At the inaugural Meadows Festival in 2016, Kanye West abruptly cut short his headlining set after Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.
