See Metallica Hype North American Tour With Live ‘Hardwired’ Video
With the North American leg of Metallica‘s WorldWired Tour set to kick off Wednesday night in Baltimore, the heavy metal legends have cut together a live video for “Hardwired… to Self-Destruct” using footage from dozens of the band’s gigs worldwide.
The “Hardwired… Around the World” video combines clips from concerts spanning from Costa Rica to Berlin as well as from their stadium-christening show in Minneapolis to their small venue performance in New York City.
The upcoming North American leg of the WorldWired Tour will see Metallica invading stadiums throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as a stop at Columbus, Ohio’s Rock on the Range Festival and San Francisco’s Outside Lands. The leg concludes August 16th in Edmonton.
“Full stadium runs can sometimes be a little intimidating,” Lars Ulrich previously told Rolling Stone. “There’s all these things to worry about like, ‘You should really try to play maybe only on the weekend,’ and, ‘Where do you play on Tuesday?’ and some of those practicalities can get a little bewildering. We just threw caution to the wind. Doing a stadium run seemed like the perfect thing on the back of how well this record has been received and all the good will that’s out there in Metallica’s world right now.”
On May 9th, the eve of the North American tour launch, Metallica will broadcast a four-song tour rehearsal from the venue via Facebook Live.
