Ronda Rousey Announces Engagement
Ronda Rousey is getting married. The former UFC bantamweight champion announced on Thursday that she is engaged to UFC heavyweight Travis Browne, who she has been dating since 2015. Brown popped the question a week ago, according to the couple, when they were vacationing in New Zealand. “It just felt like the right place to do it,” he said.
As for when the wedding will happen, Rousey said “soon.” She doesn’t quite know what to expect when it comes to wedding planning, but she said she doesn’t need much – just a venue, something to eat, as well as friends and family around them to celebrate with.
“t I don’t know what goes into planning a wedding,” Rousey told TMZ. “It could be really easy. I don’t really want a lot. I don’t really need decorations or flowers, just somewhere to go, something to eat and people around.”
Rousey hasn’t fought since her loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 on December 30, 2016. While she hasn’t said whether or not she plans to return to the UFC in the future, Dana White has said a number of times that her UFC career is “probably done.” Her mother also said she’s like to see Rousey retire following her consecutive losses because “she’s got a lot of talent” to do other things.
Rousey has kept a low profile since her loss, but she was spotted at Standing Rock, where she brought supplies to protesters, and on the set of NBC’s Blindspot for an upcoming episode.
