Hear Canaan Smith Look for ‘Miranda Lambert Crazy’ in New Song
Canaan Smith‘s 2015 debut album Bronco featured the Number One hit “Love You Like That,” a song that was prominently featured in the new S-Town podcast and puts forth some pretty epic, all-encompassing notions of love. Smith uses a similar approach for praising the idiosyncrasies of one special person in his new song “Like You That Way,” released last week.
The lead single from an upcoming album project, “Like You That Way” pits a muscular electric guitar groove against Smith’s list of appreciations. He describes a black sheep who defied her parents’ wishes by getting a tattoo and hitting the road as a bass player in a band. “You’re Miranda Lambert crazy, and I like you that way,” he sings. His vocal delivery shifts between laid-back pronouncements and rhythmic, rapid-fire cadences that match the production’s mix of bright, pop-friendly touches and rock & roll grit.
No date or title has been released for Smith’s next album. On April 21st, he’ll play a show at Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut. He’s also slated to play the Riverfront Stage during CMA Music Festival in Nashville in June.
