Watch Haim Tease New Music in Mysterious Trailer
Haim appeared to tease their long-awaited second album in a short clip posted on Twitter on Thursday. In the video, Danielle Haim bashes away at her drum kit. After roughly a minute of focused, intense drumming, the camera cuts away and the screen flashes a message: “Haim April 27th.”
Haim released their Grammy-nominated debut album in 2013. The band have been talking about the follow-up for over a year. “We’ve just been in the studio so long, perfecting and trying to get it right,” they wrote on Instagram in March of 2016. “At this point we just want to go out there and play the songs live.”
Last June, the band discussed their progress with Rolling Stone. “We make the music we make, and we’re not trying to reinvent the wheel,” Este Haim said at the time. “It’s been more about coming together and asking each other how we were feeling and what we were feeling and how we wanted to express that.”
As of last July, Haim were still working on the record. “We’d hoped to be done with recording but as it turns out, we’re at a critical point of finishing up and need to stay close to home until it’s complete,” the band announced on Twitter.
Earlier this month, billboards of the trio appeared in several cities, including Los Angeles and London, again fueling speculation that the band is close to releasing new music.
