Mary J. Blige Plots ‘Strength of a Woman’ North American Tour
Mary J. Blige announced a North American tour behind her recently released 13th LP, Strength of a Woman. The 21-date trek kicks off July 30th in Chicago and concludes September 9th in Oakland, California. The majority of the shows go on sale Friday, May 19th at 10 a.m. Eastern.
The April-issued Strength of a Woman features several high-profile guests, including Kanye West, Missy Elliott, Quavo, DJ Khaled, Kaytranada and Prince Charlez. The album followed 2014’s The London Sessions and entered the Billboard 200 at Number Three. It was Blige’s 14th career Top 10 placement. The lead single “Thick of It” earned the fastest climb to Number One on the Adult R&B chart in over two decades, Billboard reported.
Blige performed single “Love Yourself” earlier this month on The Tonight Show, backed by the Roots.
