Randy Houser, ‘Big Bang’ Star Johnny Galecki Stage Free Concert
Randy Houser and an unlikely Hollywood friend teamed up to help country fans in Santa Margarita, California, this past weekend after their local festival, the Pozo Stampede, was canceled.
Houser was scheduled to perform at the festival and decided to go ahead with the show, staging a free gig with the assistance of Johnny Galecki, the star of CBS’s The Big Bang Theory and a local resident, who joined him on guitar.
“I know the fans planned to camp out, have their weekend, and I know what it’s like when plans are canceled and all of a sudden you don’t have something to do,” Houser told the Tribune of San Luis Obispo. “I felt they deserved better than that.”
Held April 29th, Houser and Galecki hosted a daylong concert with Tyler Farr, who just released his new song “I Should Go to Church Sometime,” and Jade Jackson, one of Rolling Stone Country‘s Artists You Need to Know.
Although the show was free, Houser asked fans to make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, resulting in nearly $18,000 by the concert’s end.
Houser will perform at the Suwannee River Jam in Live Oak, Florida, this Friday.
