Watch Nikki Lane’s Rhinestone-Studded ‘Jackpot’ on ‘Conan’
Nikki Lane and her band hit the Conan stage last night in some vintage, rhinestone-studded Western wear – outfits overshadowed only by their blazing performance of “Jackpot,” from her new album Highway Queen. Lane’s defiant twang has just the right amount of grit, while a pedal steel adds some atmospheric honky-tonk to the Las Vegas-inspired love song.
Highway Queen came out earlier this year, with “Jackpot” landing on Rolling Stone‘s “Our Favorite Songs Right Now” list in February. She stopped by the Rolling Stone office in Manhattan shortly after to perform a handful of Highway Queen cuts, “Jackpot” included, for a Facebook Live session.
Lane is currently out on her Stagecoach Spotlight Nikki Highway Queen Tour, which features special guests Brent Cobb, Robert Ellis, and Jonathan Tyler, the last of whom co-produced the album. She’s slated to perform at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California this weekend.
