March Madness 2017: Darius Rucker Gets Emotional, Keith Urban to Jam
The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is entering the home stretch, with the Final Four named and the games set for this weekend in Phoenix. Gonzaga, Oregon, North Carolina and South Carolina are the remaining teams headed to Arizona, along with their passionate fans. To welcome them, the March Madness Music Festival has lined up a diverse list of rock, pop and country artists to perform, with Keith Urban, Justin Moore and Michael Ray representing Nashville.
Urban is set to headline the first night of concerts, along with his country counterparts Moore and Ray. The shows are free and are expected to attract thousands of fans. The Chainsmokers, Aerosmith, Leon Bridges, Blink 182 and Macklemore with Ryan Lewis are also on the weekend’s bill.
One country star who won’t be performing, but will surely be keeping his eye on Saturday’s South Carolina vs. Gonzaga game is Darius Rucker. The Charleston resident watched in teary disbelief as his underdog Gamecocks beat the Florida Gators to advance to the Final Four last week. Rucker is such a hardcore fan of his team that he’s been setting up television sets onstage during his concerts to monitor the score.
The NCAA Championship Game is set for Monday, April 3rd.
