Watch Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin Encourage Donations to ACLU in PSA
Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Amy Poehler and more celebrities have banded together for a PSA in support of Friday night’s Stand for Rights: A Benefit for ACLU. The special, which aims to raise money for the non-profit organization’s fight to defend and preserve Constitutional rights, will air live on Facebook at 7 p.m. EST.
Fey, Poehler, Mahershala Ali, Lin-Manuel Miranda and the many other stars who appear in the clip share their thoughts on how crazy the political climate feels right now, and how the ACLU is there to support any concerns about laws passed under the new administration.
The stars list many of the ACLU’s greatest achievements, including evolution being taught in schools, desegregation of schools, marriage equality and women’s right to choose. The video ends with a call for support and donations to better help the lawyers who work with the ACLU on protecting basic human rights in America.
Several of the stars who appear in the PSA will also make appearances at the show, alongside more personalities like Tom Hanks, Tracy Morgan, Zosia Mamet, Jon Hamm, Uzo Aduba and more. Ryan Adams, Norah Jones, Jack Antonoff and Usher with the Roots will be the night’s musical guests, and several new Funny or Die videos will premiere throughout the broadcast.
