See Melissa McCarthy’s Sean Spicer Apologize for Hitler Remarks on ‘SNL’
White House press secretary Sean Spicer‘s very bad week got worse as Melissa McCarthy and her “Spicy” impersonation returned to Saturday Night Live to mock Spicer’s ill-advised Hitler comments.
“Everyone shut up so I can apologize,” the Easter bunny suit-wearing press secretary demanded. “You all got your wish this week, didn’t ya? Spicy finally made a mistake.”
Earlier in the week, Spicer criticized Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad for using chemical weapons against his own people. “You had someone as despicable as Hitler who didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons,” Spicer said, which is historically very untrue.
In Spicer’s attempts to walk back his misguided remarks, he referred to the concentration camps as “Holocaust centers.” On SNL, McCarthy revived her Spicer impression for a third time to pummel the press secretary.
“Everyone freaked. They were like ‘Boo hoo! Boo hoo! What about the Holocaust centers?’ Yeah, I know they’re not really called Holocaust centers. Duh. I know that,” Spicy said. “I clearly meant to say concentration clubs.”
McCarthy’s Spicer then continued to spout insensitive things during his attempt to apologize. “I’m sensitive to the fact that they were sent there on trains, but at least they didn’t have to fly United, am I right? Zing,” “Spicer” said, adding that he was “especially sad this happened on Passover, a.k.a. Jewish Easter.”
Spicy closed out his Easter press conference by passively alerting the nation that we might be on the verge of war.
“Happy Easter everybody, and oh by the way, the President is probably gonna bomb North Korea tonight,” the spokesperson added as an aside. “Everybody eat as much candy as you want because this is probably our last Easter on Earth.”
