Watch A Tribe Called Quest’s Gorgeous ‘Dis Generation’ Video
A Tribe Called Quest take over the subway, the street and the stage in the new video for “Dis Generation.” The song appears on the group’s 2016 album, We Got It From Here … Thank You 4 Your Service.
Atlanta director Hiro Murai helmed the black-and-white clip, which finds the camera panning slowly over several seemingly endless settings, moving from a subway platform filled with travelers and buskers to a crowded concert hall and finally a bustling city block. Q-tip, Jarobi and Busta Rhymes weave in and out of each scene, trading bars and dancing whenever the voice of the late Phife Dawg plays overhead. The video premiered at Noisey.
A Tribe Called Quest will play a handful of festival dates this summer in support of We Got It From Here, including Pitchfork Fest in Chicago, FYF Fest in Los Angeles and Panorama in New York City. In February, the group delivered a politically charged performance at the Grammys that also honored Phife, who died last March from complications resulting from diabetes.
