Hear Brad Paisley’s Motivational New Song ‘Last Time for Everything’
Brad Paisley takes a survey of life’s unforgettable moments in his new single “Last Time for Everything,” the second release from his 11th studio album, Love and War.
Filled with sunset nostalgia and sage advice, Paisley reverses the familiar “There’s a first time for everything” phrase to illustrate how quickly time slips away. His examples of those moments to savor range from the broadly relatable (going to prom, fishing with your grandpa) to more personal and musical, like seeing Little Jimmy Dickens on the Grand Ole Opry or hearing Prince sing “Purple Rain.”
Co-written by Paisley with Smith Ahnquist, Brent Anderson, Chris DuBois and Mike Ryan, the tune is built around Paisley’s ace guitar work. His revolving, Police-evoking main riff is doused in slippery twang, but his solo mixes in some arena rock-influenced finger tapping fireworks.
“Last Time for Everything” follows Paisley’s heart melting previous single, “Today,” which hit Number Three on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart. Paisley recently shared the video for “Selfie#Theinternetisforever,” inspired by the internet’s worst selfies.
Love and War comes out April 21st, and the album will also feature collaborations with Timbaland, John Fogerty, Bill Anderson and Mick Jagger, plus a shared songwriting credit with Johnny Cash. Paisley’s Life Amplified World Tour runs through September 24th in St. Louis.
