Watch Ellen DeGeneres on Unlikely Role in Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma Feud
Ellen DeGeneres never expected she’d become peripherally entangled in a major rap feud, but she’s excited by the drama.
Nicki Minaj references the talk show host in her recently released “No Frauds” (“I’m DeGeneres Queen – ask Ms. Ellen“), a diss track in her ongoing beef with rapper Remy Ma. And on Thursday’s Ellen, the giddy DeGeneres told her audience, “This is exciting – I’ve never been a part of a rap feud before. Do I have to do anything? I don’t know. All you hoes got my back?”
The crowd roaring with laughter, she also unveiled her second brush with hip-hop stardom: a fake cameo in Iggy Azalea‘s twerk-heavy “Mo Bounce” video, with her face plastered on the bodies of two dancers.
“No Frauds,” which features Drake and Lil’ Wayne, is Minaj’s response to Remy Ma’s scathing diss track “Shelter” from earlier this year. Minaj also released two other songs, the Wayne-assisted “Changed It” and solo “Regret In Your Tears” on the same day. The rapper has hinted at a follow-up LP to her 2014’s The Pinkprint but hasn’t revealed whether these new tracks will feature on the record.
