Watch RaeLynn’s Delicate, Acoustic ‘Love Triangle’ at the Opry
The Grand Ole Opry stage may be where some of the biggest moments in country music happen, but RaeLynn’s performance of her single “Love Triangle” from the Opry’s Live from the Lounge series proves there’s plenty going on behind the scenes. Joined by an acoustic guitar and cajón, she delivers a delicate, vulnerable performance of a song rooted in heartbreak.
“Love Triangle” explores the effects of divorce on a child, told from the child’s perspective of “bowling alley burgers” and oblique conversations about the separated spouse. The first single from RaeLynn’s Warner Music Nashville debut Wildhorse, the song was released in summer 2016. The full record followed in March 2017.
“I wrote ‘Love Triangle’ when I was 18 years old,” the 22-year-old told Rolling Stone Country. ”I knew [it] was always gonna be on my record.”
RaeLynn gained national attention in 2012 as part of season two of The Voice, where she advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated. Following a brief stint on Big Machine Label Group, she was signed to Warner in June 2016.
The Houston native spends late spring heading her Rave Tour across the Midwest, with stops in Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan and more before playing downtown Nashville on June 11th during CMA Music Festival.
