Chris Stapleton Extends All-American Road Show Tour, Readies New Music
After announcing plans to release new music on May 5th, Chris Stapleton has revealed that he’ll preview some of that new material live during the broadcast of this weekend’s ACM Awards. In addition to performing, he’s nominated for three awards: Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year (“Tennessee Whiskey”) and Video of the Year (“Fire Away”).
The acclaimed artist also added a number of dates to his All-American Road Show tour, which kicks off tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada. The cross-country trek now continues through early November, and features a stacked, revolving line-up of special guests: Maren Morris, Brent Cobb, Lucie Silvas, Brothers Osborne, Anderson East, Margo Price and Marty Stuart will open shows throughout the tour. Additionally, Stapleton will join up with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers for a trio of shows in June and July. New dates appear below.
In other Stapleton news, the Grammy-winning singer will appear on Bobby Bare’s forthcoming album Things Change, duetting with the Country Music Hall of Fame member on a remake of his 1963 hit “Detroit City.”
No other details about Stapleton’s forthcoming album are currently available. May 5th will mark the two-year anniversary of his breakout album, Traveller.
