See Ewan McGregor as Combative Twin Brothers in New ‘Fargo’ Trailer
Ewan McGregor makes his debut in the dual roles of twin brothers Emmit Stussy, the “Parking Lot King” of Minnesota, and parole officer Ray Stussy in the official Season Three trailer for FX’s Fargo.
The third installment follows the brothers as tensions mount in their sibling rivalry, which inevitably leads to murder. The new cast includes Carrie Coon as police chief Gloria Burgle, Mary Elizabeth Winstead portrays Ray’s girlfriend Nikki Swango and David Thewlis plays loner V.M. Vargas.
In the trailer, Ray tells his brother in a Godfather-styled scene, “You still owe me for what happened when we were kids,” to which Emmit replies, “Happy to help, but really, where does it end?”
Meanwhile, Swango tells Ray that he’s “twice the man your brother is,” which seems to start the couple down a path of crime. Mirroring previous seasons, the trailer promises violent scenes alongside quirky humor.
Show creator Noah Hawley wrote and directed Season Three. Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1996 film of the same name inspired the Fargo anthology series. The Coen brothers also serve as the show’s executive producers alongside Hawley, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron.
The third season of Fargo premieres on April 19th on FX.
