See Beyonce-Referencing ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ Season Three Trailer
In the bubbly new trailer for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season Three, Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) plots her next major life move – after some wisdom from ever-eccentric landlady, Lillian (Carol Kane). “After high school, most white girls go to college.”
While pursuing her higher education goals, Kimmy continues to battle with her past. Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne (Jon Hamm), the protagonist’s former cult leader and technically current husband, calls from prison to check on the divorce papers he mailed over. “I haven’t had a chance to sign that thing – because nobody in New York uses pens anymore,” Kimmy responds defiantly. “Everyone just vapes each other now.”
The clip also features cameos from Bobby (Fred Armisen’s Robert Durst parody character) and Kimmy’s roommate Titus (Tituss Burgess), who hunts down a cheating boyfriend in a glossy fantasy musical sequence styled after Beyoncé’s “Hold Up” video from Lemonade.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season Three premieres May 19th on Netflix. Guest stars will include Laura Dern, David Diggs, Rachel Dratch, Ray Liotta, Andrea Martin and Maya Rudolph.
