Maxwell Plots ‘blackSUMMERS’night’ Summer Tour
After wrapping the King and Queen of Hearts World Tour with Mary J. Blige, Maxwell will return to the road this summer with a new slate of dates in support of his 2016 LP blackSUMMERS’night.
The latest string of 18 dates kick off May 23rd in Nashville and conclude June 23rd in San Diego. Ledisi will serve as opening act for the entirety of the trek, with Common (Nashville and Greenville, South Carolina) and Leela James lending support on select dates.
In addition to his summer tour, Maxwell unveiled his new video for blackSUMMERS’night‘s “Gods” as a Tidal exclusive Monday.
“Inspiration stemmed from having an experience of sort of seeing the spiritual parallel universe – that which can’t be seen. Art is subjective, visions evolve and I want fans to interpret the video on their own,” Maxwell said of the video in a statement.
Tidal members will also get first stab at tickets with a pre-sale starting March 28th, with a general on-sale to follow March 31st.
