‘Hurricane’ Singer Luke Combs Readies Debut Album ‘This One’s for You’
On the heels of his breakthrough hit single “Hurricane,” Luke Combs announced the release of his debut album. Titled This One’s for You, the album will hit stores and digital retailers on June 2nd.
Combs, a North Carolina native who cites Eric Church as his biggest influence, co-wrote all 12 tracks on the LP. Many of them were drawn from his own experiences or things he’s witnessed as a songwriter.
“I just love writing songs and singing them,” Combs told Rolling Stone Country in January. “People seem to enjoy them, and that’s all you can really ask for. I didn’t get into it to try to be a celebrity or whatever.”
Combs’ everyguy persona runs through the album, whether it’s in the poignant title track or the tongue-in-cheek “When It Rains It Pours.”
“I’ve always been a super regular guy,” he says. “I think there’s kind of a comfortability with me onstage – and I think my cool factor is not having one. I’m not extra cool or extra different. I’m an honest dude, not trying to be anything other than who I am.”
Combs is currently on tour with Brantley Gilbert and will perform at CMA Music Festival in Nashville in June.
