See ‘Late Show’ Creepily Combine Trump and ‘Hi Stranger’ Viral Video
Stephen Colbert attempted to make the viral video sensation “Hi Stranger” even creepier by giving it a Donald Trump makeover on The Late Show.
In the stop-motion animated video that’s become a sensation on social media, a naked and featureless figure mechanically utters sweet nothings to the viewer.
“There is sort of a debate on the internet about this thing. Some people find it kind of comforting, others want to know if you can take out a restraining order against a cartoon,” Colbert said. “Some people have said it’s the most disturbing cartoon they’ve ever seen. Well, we here at The Late Show took that as a challenge.”
Colbert then merged the “Hi, Stranger” video with the Late Show‘s reoccurring “Cartoon Trump,” with the character donning a “Make America Beautiful Again” thong and a “Putin” lower-back tattoo.
“I just want to sit here and relax with you, maybe take a shower, you know what I mean,” cartoon Trump tells the viewer, who it turns out is a creeped-out cartoon version of Melania Trump.
