Primus Set Summer Tour Ahead of New Album
Primus have announced a stretch of summer tour dates ahead of the arrival of their new LP.
The band will perform a handful of U.S. dates this spring before embarking to Europe. The newly announced summer trek begin July 17th in Charlotte, North Carolina and loops the U.S. before concluding nearly two dozen concerts later with a Berkeley, California gig on August 18th.
A special pre-sale for Primus fans will begin March 21st, with the general on-sale to follow on March 24th. Check out the Primusville site for full ticket info.
For the summer dates, veteran rock group Clutch will join Primus on the road. “Touring with Primus is something that Clutch has wanted to do for ages,” the band’s Neil Fallon said in a statement. “And we’ve heard from countless fans that have wanted to see that bill as well. Needless to say, we’re thrilled to finally go out with Primus this summer. Good times!”
In addition to the tours, Les Claypool’s troupe revealed that they’re currently working on a new studio album due out in 2017. Primus last released their Willy Wonka-indebted Primus & the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble in 2014; prior to that, their last LP of original material was 2011’s Green Naugahyde.
