Feist Preps First New Album in Six Years, ‘Pleasure’
Feist will release Pleasure, her first album in six years, April 28th via Universal. The singer-songwriter’s long-awaited new record marks her fifth solo LP and follows 2011’s Metals.
Feist co-produced the 11-track record with previous collaborators Mocky – who worked on Metals and its acclaimed predecessor, The Reminder – and Reminder collaborator, Renaud Letang.
Along with Pleasure, Feist will appear on the new album from her old band, Broken Social Scene, which is expected to arrive this summer. Feist also has a handful of festival appearances scheduled, including a stop at Bon Iver’s Eaux Claires in Eau Claire, Wisconsin June 17th.
Feist has participated in a handful of projects since Metals arrived in 2011. In 2014, she collaborated with Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew on “You in Your Were,” from his solo album, Darlings, and in 2015 she teamed with filthy electropunk queen Peaches on “I Mean Something” from her album, Rub. Last year, Feist covered the Tragically Hip’s “Flamenco” in support of singer Gord Downie after he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
