Watch Alec Baldwin’s Trump Bungle Alien Invasion on ‘SNL’
Saturday Night Live imagined a near future where Donald Trump was commander-in-chief in the middle of an alien attack, with the president tasked with leading the charge against the invaders from Zorblatt 9.
However, instead of a galvanizing, presidential speech to the troops facing innumerable odds – like Bill Pullman’s president in Independence Day – Alec Baldwin‘s “Trump” instead reads from the Trump playbook.
“What a beautiful day. Who here loves Trump? I know this guy over here, I know he loves Trump,” “Trump” says, pointing to a smoldering carcass.
“Now here’s the deal: We’re going to beat these aliens because we’ve got the best military, but we don’t win anymore, and the aliens are laughing at us. They’re killing us and they’re laughing at us.”
Trump then suggests that the U.S. can defeat the aliens if they “bring coal back,” and upon being informed that the entire state of California has been vaporized, “Trump” asks “Even Arnold?,” as Baldwin mocks the president’s petty feud with Schwarzenegger. “So I won the popular vote?”
After “Trump” states, without evidence, that African-American women are secretly aliens – something he heard on InfoWars, one of Trump’s news sources – and bungles the Pledge of Allegiance, the aliens from Zorblatt 9 overtake the base. When the aliens demand, “Take me to your leader,” the cowardly president quickly hands off the title to the general standing next to him.
