Wheeler Walker Jr. Announces Mini ‘DTF Tour’
Wheeler Walker Jr. sure loves a threesome – country music’s aspiring Ron Jeremy has announced a three-city mini tour in support of his upcoming second album Ol’ Wheeler. Dubbed the DTF Tour (Google it), the run hits Nashville, New York and Los Angeles.
In February, Walker debuted the lyric video for the album’s lead single “Pussy King,” a boisterous, leave-nothing-to-the-imagination anthem complete with horns, ad-libbed boasts and female backing vocalists – who presumably are ok with Wheeler claiming his risqué royal moniker. Ol’ Wheeler is set for release on June 2nd, right before Walker gets DTF on the road. (See the dates and venues below.)
“I said I’m the greatest artist in country music, so now I gotta get out on the road and prove it,” Walker tells Rolling Stone Country via text. “Also, fuck this website, and fuck you.”
The sex-obsessed singer recently found himself in the same ignominious company as notorious rap group 2 Live Crew and their once-outlawed As Nasty as They Wanna Be album when he was banned by crowd-funding site PledgeMusic, who yanked Ol’ Wheeler from its campaigns and canceled all pre-orders of the record. (The album is now available to order on Walker’s own site.)
“A country artist comes along with a couple dirty words & everybody freaks the fuck out,” Walker (the increasingly popular creation of comic Ben Hoffman) tweeted this week. “It’s 2017. Grow up.” Tickets for the DTF Tour go on sale March 24th with more shows expected to be announced.
