See Jon Pardi’s Swaggering ‘Dirt on My Boots’ on ‘Seth Meyers’
Jon Pardi and team are giving a master class in marketing this week, with his song “Dirt on My Boots” becoming his second Number One single on Monday and the singer being named ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year on Tuesday. Last night, the Pardi made his late night television debut, performing “Dirt on My Boots” on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Sporting his signature cowboy hat, Pardi leads his road band through a swaggering performance of the California Sunrise cut – his second footwear-themed chart topper following “Head Over Boots.” It’s a strong showcase for the versatility of his band, relying more on a limber R&B groove than overwhelming with a barrage of electric guitars. Pardi plays the hard-working man, cleaning up after a day on the farm to hit the town with his girlfriend. He punctuates the each chorus with an enthusiastic “Yeah, girl!” as fiddle and guitar players double up for the funky vamps between each verse.
Pardi is currently playing solo dates as well as opening shows on Dierks Bentley’s What the Hell Tour. On Thursday, March 16th he plays Providence, Rhode Island.
