George Strait to Perform His 60 Number One Songs in Las Vegas
George Strait will perform every one of his 60 Number One singles during a new run of shows in Las Vegas. Set for April 7th and 8th, “2 Nights of Number 1’s” mark the Country Music Hall of Fame member’s return to the T-Mobile Arena, where he’s been performing select concerts since 2015. But these gigs are extraordinary, as they highlight all of Strait’s radio chart-toppers, from early hits “Fool Hearted Memory” and “The Chair” to the more recent “Give It Away” and “I Saw God Today.” He’ll also tack on some fan favorites that peaked just short of Number One, like “Amarillo by Morning” and “Troubadour.”
Strait has more Las Vegas shows on the books for July, September and December and says that if fans enjoy the new hits-only format, he’ll consider it for the rest of 2017. “Burning House” singer Cam will open each night.
The Texas vocalist’s 60 Number Ones are the most of any artist in any genre of music. He stepped away from regular touring in 2014 with monster farewell show at AT&T stadium just outside Dallas, and returned to the stage with the “Strait to Vegas” engagement. His most recent release is the Strait Out of the Box 2 compilation.
