Hear Little Big Town’s Mournful New Song ‘When Someone Stops Loving You’
One week out from the release of their eighth studio album The Breaker, Little Big Town have shared yet another new song, the tear-jerking ballad “When Someone Stops Loving You.”
Hillary Lindsey, Chase McGill and Lori McKenna wrote the soulful, emotional song, which details a laundry list of painful daily heartbreaks one must endure after the end of a relationship, including making “it through the nine to five like it don’t hurt” and keeping “her number in your phone in case she calls back.”
The Breaker is out February 24th, and the quartet has already released a handful of its songs, including “Happy People,” “We Went to the Beach,” and the Taylor Swift-penned first single “Better Man.” The album reunites the group with Jay Joyce, who produced their albums Pain Killer and Tornado.
“We’re always pushing to be progressive, so there’s some cool sounds on there,” Phillip Sweet told Rolling Stone Country. “It has that soul and spirit that we always try to find with Jay. Technical performances aren’t what he’s looking for – he’s looking to capture a feeling.”
Little Big Town recently performed at the Grammys, participating in a star-studded Bee Gees tribute and offering a quick cover of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” during the broadcast. The band recently expanded their 2017 residency at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium, which begins with a release day show on February 24th.
