See Kelsea Ballerini’s Charming ‘Yeah Boy’ on ‘Fallon’
Just days away from her Grammy Awards appearance, Kelsea Ballerini visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a sweet, flirty performance of “Yeah Boy,” the fourth single from her debut LP, The First Time. The Best New Artist nominee (who’ll compete against fellow country phenom Maren Morris, along with the Chainsmokers, Chance the Rapper and Anderson Paak) is the first solo female act to earn three Number One singles from her debut album since Wynonna Judd did it in 1992.
Penned by the singer with Keesy Timmer and Forest Glen Whitehead, “Yeah Boy” will be the final single released from Ballerini’s album. “We went back and forth on whether to do another single from the album or do something new,” she tells Rolling Stone Country. “We just felt like ‘Peter Pan’ moved up [the charts] a lot quicker than we expected it to – which is such a blessing. . . But ‘Yeah Boy’ captures that fun youthfulness, and I thought it would be good to circle back and end on that note.”
Other country stars slated to perform on the Grammys are Maren Morris with Alicia Keys, along with Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood sharing the stage for their duet “The Fighter.” The Grammys, hosted by James Corden, air live Sunday, February 12th, on CBS.
