Watch Terrifying New ‘Alien: Covenant’ Trailer
The xenomorphs are back in the latest trailer for Alien: Covenant, the newest chapter in director Ridley Scott’s storied sci-fi franchise.
A sequel of sorts to 2012’s Prometheus – Michael Fassbinder reprises his role of an android, albeit a newer model – the film centers on a colonization mission to a remote paradise-like planet; the crew of the Covenant are couples assigned with the mission of populating the suspiciously lifeless new world.
However, the seeds of disaster have already been planted as the crew is overtaken by the titular creatures, with Billy Crudup’s character the most likely recipient of the franchise’s trademark chest-bursting.
The latest preview follows a similarly red-band trailer showing one especially bloody shower scene.
Danny McBride, who plays the pilot of the Covenant, spoke to Rolling Stone about working with Scott, who at the age of 79 continues to direct movies at an annual pace.
“He’s got so much energy, and he shoots everything with four cameras. We move through stuff fast,” McBride said. “When I got here, some people said, ‘Oh man, he does two takes, three takes, tops,’ but I love it. It creates this attitude on set of, like, ‘You better fucking come with it because you’ve got two shots — you better bring it.'”
