See Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood’s Kinetic ‘The Fighter’ Video
Ahead of their collaborative performance at the Grammys, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood released a preview of their new music video for “The Fighter.”
In the clip, Urban and Underwood sing in a darkened room while, elsewhere, a woman shows off some nimble dance moves in a street setting. The pair performed an energetic version of the track during the Grammy broadcast, sharing the stage in front of a giant, trippy LED cube. It wasn’t their first time performing the disco-tinged song together, having had a practice run on a Ripcord World Tour stop in Wellington, New Zealand, in December.
“The Fighter,” which Urban co-wrote with busbee, is the latest single off his 2016 release Ripcord. That collection was nominated for Best Country Album, an award that ultimately went to Sturgill Simpson’s A Sailor’s Guide to Earth.
Urban was also nominated for Best Country Solo Performance for “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” while Underwood was nominated in the same category for Storyteller track “Church Bells.” Maren Morris took home that award for her breakout single “My Church.”
Urban’s headlining Ripcord World Tour resumes on May 27th in Indianapolis.
