See Little Big Town, Andra Day’s Inspiring ‘Rise Up’ in Nashville
Little Big Town kicked off a historic run of dates at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on February 24th and 25th, the first weekend of a highly anticipated residency that will continue sporadically throughout 2017.
The first show coincided with the release of the band’s new album, The Breaker, and featured a number of special guests like Chris Stapleton, Brent Cobb and Sam Hunt. The second evening did not disappoint, either, with a guest roster that included soul singer Andra Day, who joined the group for a harmony-rich performance of her inspirational anthem “Rise Up.” Day and Little Big Town previously shared the stage during the 59th Grammy Awards, paying tribute to the Bee Gees.
“Thank you guys for having me here. It’s truly a joy, and one of my favorite groups of people I’ve met in the business thus far,” Day says before the start of the song. “Like, genuinely you can just hang out with these people.”
It was a busy week for the band, who also made the rounds on the small-screen with performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Today Show. Watch them perform a spirited rendition of new Breaker song “Happy People” on The Today Show below.
In addition to their Ryman dates, Little Big Town will tour the United States and head overseas on a run that begins March 5th at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida.
