Willie Nelson Readies New Album, Debuts ‘Woman’s Love’: Ram Report
After a string of canceled shows, Willie Nelson is set to return to the stage February 16th at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo in Texas. And Nelson’s son Lukas says his father, who was fighting off a lingering cold, is fully back on his feet. “Happy to report this Valentine’s Day that dad is feeling great and will be back on the road,” he wrote on Instagram on February 14th. “Music and Love are a healing combination.”
New music is at the forefront of Nelson’s mind: he’ll release God’s Problem Child, his first album of all new material since 2014’s Band of Brothers, on April 28th. The project features 13 tracks, seven of them written by Nelson. The prolific country singer released a video for “A Woman’s Love,” a song written by Mike Reid and Sam Hunter, this week.
The album also includes a tribute to Merle Haggard, “He Won’t Ever Be Gone,” and Nelson’s humorous response to rumors that he has died, “Still Not Dead.” The title track was penned by Tony Joe White and Jamey Johnson.
Nelson won a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at Sunday’s show for his tribute to the Gershwin brothers, Summertime.
