Singer-songwriter Marc Scibilia has shared a heartfelt new video for his song “Summer Clothes.” The clip juxtaposes footage of the Nashville-based artist performing with home movies, Snapchat videos and footage of historic events – all stitched together in a vintage style that complements the song’s nostalgic quality.
Scibilia released “Summer Clothes” last month. The single is a gentle ode to reconnecting with a loved one, with a chorus that swells and soars over reverb-drenched vocals and electronic drums. An acoustic version of the song is also available on streaming and download services.
“I was 18 when I moved from Buffalo to Nashville,” Scibilia tells Rolling Stone Country. “My dad would call me once a week and end every conversation with, ‘One more time, what’s your address?’ and he would never send me any mail. The song is a little bit about my hometown, my family, but mostly just someone looking for an excuse to call someone they miss – thanks for always calling, Dad. I missed you too.”
In 2015, Scibilia rose to prominence when his version of Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land” was featured in a Super Bowl commercial for Jeep. His most recent album Out of Style came out in 2016, and he’s due to play a handful of shows this spring.
