Watch James Corden Recap Beyonce, Adele, Grammys on ‘Late Late Show’
James Corden recapped Adele’s big wins and Beyoncé’s stunning performance at the Grammys on The Late Late Show Monday, one day after hosting the awards show.
“The Grammys were last night,” Corden said at the top of his monologue, cracking, “Don’t tell me what happened, I DVR’d it.”
The host went on to congratulate Adele on her five Grammy wins and mentioned her moving tribute to George Michael, which she restarted after messing up the first time. “When she did that, America was like, ‘Wait we can just redo things after we mess up – would’ve been nice to know that after the election,'” Corden joked.
Corden also praised Beyoncé, especially her ability to keep the tipping chair in her performance from falling with “just her fierceness.” However, the artist Corden was most impressed with was Cee-Lo Green, who showed up dressed entirely in gold. Corden admitted that Green saw him on the red carpet and waved, and for a minute the host had no idea who it was.
“We’ve been thinking what do we even call this?” Corden said of Green’s outfit. “Do we call it ‘C3-P-LO,’ or we thought ‘C-LO-3O’? Or maybe we should just call it what it is: A cry for help.”
