Watch Maroon 5, Future’s Trippy ‘Cold’ Video
Maroon 5 and Future premiered their trippy video for new collaboration “Cold” on Wednesday, one day after the band and rapper premiered the song.
The video begins with Levine driving around as he gets a call about going to a party at Future‘s place to hear the rapper’s verse for “Cold.” Levine is hesitant at first, but agrees to come by. After chatting with Future, the singer shows up to the decadent celebration where his drink is immediately spiked.
From there, he embarks on a psychedelic adventure as the partygoers blur and turn into animals. After Future delivers his verse, he and the singer have a conversation in his private studio where he transforms into an old man and subsequently a bear in front of his collaborator. Levine finally makes his way home where he retells his night to his wife at the end of the video.
Maroon 5 have not announced plans for the follow-up album to 2014’s V, though “Cold” is their second new single in recent months. They previously unleashed the track “Don’t Wanna Know” with a guest feature from Kendrick Lamar. On the day they released “Cold,” Future announced his own plans for a new album, revealing that his eponymous fifth LP would debut this Friday. He will also embark on the Nobody Safe Tour beginning in May with supporting acts Migos, Tory Lanez, Kodak Black, Young Thug and A$AP Ferg.
