Watch Ed Sheeran’s Inflatable Sumo Showdown in New ‘Shape of You’ Video
Ed Sheeran hits the boxing gym in his cinematic “Shape of You” video. Assisted by a romantic workout partner, he trains for an intense fight: flipping a massive tire, attacking a punching bag and sprinting on the streets of Seattle. But the mood turns silly when the singer dons an inflatable fat suit for a showdown with a sumo wrestler.
The breezy electro-pop single is Sheeran’s first Number One on the Billboard Hot 100. “Shape of You,” which he debuted alongside arena-pop anthem “Castle on the Hill,” previews his upcoming third LP, ÷ (Divide), out March 3rd via Atlantic Records. “Castle on the Hill” debuted at Number Six, making Sheeran the first artist to debut two singles in the top 10 simultaneously.
In a statement detailing the new album, Sheeran revealed that he initially crafted “Shape of You” for Rihanna before it morphed into a solo track. He will perform both of his new singles February 11th on Saturday Night Live.
