See Taylor Swift Debut Latest Singles Live at Pre-Super Bowl Gig
Taylor Swift staged her first – and potentially, only – concert of 2017 Saturday night at a pre-Super Bowl 51 bash in Houston, where the singer added the live debuts of two of her most recent songs: A solo acoustic rendition “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” her Fifty Shades Darker collaboration with Zayn, and “Better Man,” the single she penned for Little Big Town.
Since concluding her 1989 World Tour in December 2015, Swift has only sporadically retaken the stage, performing only one full-length concert in 2016 alongside a few award show appearances. 2017 is shaping up to have a similar live schedule as Swift told the Club Nomadic crowd that is unlikely she would tour this year.
“I have to be really honest with you about something: As far as I know, I’m doing one show in 2017. And as far as I know, this is that one show,” Swift said (via Billboard).
“So what I’m trying to tell you is, by coming here tonight, you’re essentially attending 100 percent of my tour dates for the year, so thank you! You’re the crowd in my most recent daydreams, when I’m thinking about being onstage, so I was wondering: If you don’t feel like dancing for yourself or screaming for yourself, you don’t feel in the mood or whatever, you’re like stressed out, would you do it for me tonight?”
AT&T and DirecTV, which recently launched a channel dedicated to the singer, hosted Swift’s pre-Super Bowl concert.
