Watch Kings of Leon’s Mysterious New ‘Reverend’ Video
Kings of Leon‘s “Waste a Moment” video was a strange affair, a pileup of odd images – including eyeballs doused in flames, a dinosaur and a ponytailed assassin – with no explanation. The group extended the story line in the clip for “Find Me,” and their new “Reverend” video is the latest installment in this weird, small-town drama.
“Reverend” opens as a mysterious glowing orb crashes into the woods. Locals bravely investigate the object as Kings of Leon‘s rugged guitars kick up a racket in the background. Anyone who goes near the cryptic orb appears to end up dead or unconscious. The video ends on a cliffhanger: the ponytailed assassin makes his way to the orb for some sort of showdown, the band roars through the final hook and the screen fades to black.
“Reverend” is most recent single from Kings of Leon’s Walls album, which came out last October. “This record was the first one in a little while where we were all four very involved lyrically and was kind of a team effort,” Kings’ drummer Nathan Followill told Rolling Stone. “Us being family, no one shies away from ‘No, that’s a horrible line’ or ‘That’s a great line.'”
Walls debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Albums chart.
