Check out the original performances of “I Want to Hold Your Hand” from the February 9th, 1964 show in New York, “This Boy” from a February 16th, 1964 taping in Miami and a clip of “Twist & Shout” from their first-ever U.S. show on February 11th, 1964 at the Washington Coliseum in Washington, D.C.

Next week marks the actual annivesary of Beatlemania’s beginnings, and to celebrate, the Late Show With David Letterman will have Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr return to the Ed Sullivan Theater. This week, the show is getting a jump on the festivities by hosting a “Beatles tribute,” where guests such as Sting, the Flaming Lips, Broken Bells and Lenny Kravitz will all play Beatles tunes.
