Watch Panic! At the Disco Croon ‘Death of a Bachelor’ on ‘Fallon’
Panic! At the Disco‘s Brendon Urie crooned through “Death of a Bachelor” on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Panic!’s fifth album Death of a Bachelor is nominated for the Best Rock Album award at the Grammys.
The Roots joined Urie for the lounge-y performance of the Frank Sinatra-inspired tune. The live take tapped into the jazzier influences of the song, which has a much more trap-infused beat and style on the official recording.
Panic!’s Best Rock Album nod is the act’s second Grammy nomination. The band was previously recognized in 2008 when their debut A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out was nominated in the Best Boxed/Special Limited Edition category. Death of a Bachelor is the first album released by Panic! where Urie is listed as the sole official member. Founding member Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker left the group in 2009 after their sophomore album Pretty. Odd. while drummer Spencer Smith went on hiatus from the band in 2013 after Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! after revealing to fans his desire to seek help for drug and alcohol abuse. He officially left in 2015.
