Arnold Schwarzenegger Opens Up About Trump Feud
Until now, Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken a restrained approach to President Donald Trump‘s childish preoccupation with ratings of The Apprentice since Schwarzenegger took over as host. On Thursday, the former Mister Universe reminded POTUS of the gravity of his new role: “Hey Donald, I have a great idea,” he said in a video, “Why don’t we switch jobs? And then people can finally sleep comfortably again.”
But in an upcoming cover story by writer Stephen Rodrick in the April issue of Men’s Journal, which explores Schwarzenegger’s environmental legacy as Governor of California, as well as his blue print for combating pollution on a state and local level, Schwarzenegger offers a less statesmanlike plan for dealing with the Donald’s constant ribbing. “I called my assistant and said, ‘I think what we really should do is request a meeting.'” Schwarzenegger says before pausing. “And then we just smash his face into the table.”
Schwarzenegger laughs, letting everyone knows he’s joking, and then he rubs his massive hands together. “And then I think, we can’t do that. I think I have to kind of be above all that and put him on the spot.” He wound up tweeting this reply: “It’s great that you’re so into ratings, but I hope that same energy is there when you serve all the people.”
To read more of Schwarzenegger’s thoughts on our 45th president and his own epic American life, the April issue of Men’s Journal will be on newsstands March 3rd.
