Hank Williams Jr. Plots Initial 2017 Tour Dates
Hank Williams Jr. had a memorable 2016 that included a co-headlining summer tour with Chris Stapleton and the release of his latest album It’s About Time. The 67-year-old entertainer will maintain his pace into 2017 with a new batch of U.S. tour dates announced yesterday.
This first round of dates gets underway February 3rd in Nevada at Peppermill Concert Hall and runs through September. Some notable festival gigs along the way include Bayou Country Superfest, where other headliners playing the 3-day festival at New Orleans’ Superdome include Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, and Thomas Rhett. He will also perform at the inaugural Country 500 – the Great American Music Fest held at Daytona International Speedway on Memorial Day Weekend, alongside Luke Bryan, Willie Nelson, and more. Currently, no guest performers have been announced for the tour.
Prior to the release of It’s About Time, Williams spoke to Rolling Stone Country and felt like the album was worthy of mention alongside his classic works. “I’ve got a bunch of platinum on the wall. . .but this is the best one I’ve ever put together,” he said. It’s About Time included appearances by Eric Church, Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore, and Brad Paisley.
