Watch Creepy First Trailer for All-Female Horror Anthology ‘XX’
Children turn into monsters, a camping trip goes awry and a woman finds herself stuck in the creepiest birthday party ever in the chilling first trailer for XX, the upcoming female helmed horror anthology film.
XX will comprise four shorts: Jovanka Vuckovic’s The Box, Roxanne Benjamin’s Don’t Fall, Karyn Kusama’s Only Living Son and Birthday Party from Annie Clark, a.k.a. St. Vincent, making her directorial debut.
The new trailer opens with a skin-crawling scene from The Box, in which a young boy asks to see a present being held by a strange man on the subway seat next to him. Whatever’s inside, triggers something in the boy … who soon refuses eat. The clip teases another creepy kid tale, one in which a boy develops a taste for his classmates’ fingernails, while elsewhere a young couple is terrorized on a camping trip by a monstrous figure in the teaser’s most frightening moment.
XX stars Natalie Brown, Melanie Lynskey, Breeda Wool, Angela Trimbur, Sheila Vand and Christina Kirk, The film will premiere at Sundance, then open in select theaters and on video-on-demand February 17th.
