Pearl Jam to Air Surprise Third Man Records Gig on SiriusXM
Pearl Jam‘s secret, pre-Bonnaroo gig at Jack White’s Third Man Records venue in Nashville, a show attended by only 250 hardcore fans, will make its broadcast debut starting Saturday on the band’s SiriusXM station.
The band announced the broadcast schedule for their Inside Third Man Records concert, with 11 airings planned from December 24th through New Year’s Day on Pearl Jam Radio Channel 22. The broadcast will be accompanied by “exclusive commentary” courtesy of guitarist Mike McCready.
Pearl Jam’s June 9th concert, which was recorded directly to vinyl, featured a career-spanning setlist that included Ten‘s “Deep,” Vitalogy‘s “Corduroy” and fan favorite non-LP tracks like “Hard to Imagine” and “Let Me Sleep.”
The gig also boasted the return of the unreleased “Of the Earth,” with White making a guest appearance on guitar for the live rarity.
Pearl Jam’s Third Man concert was initially released as a limited edition LP available exclusively through White’s Third Man Vault subscription service. The Vault Package 29 included a black-and-gold, split-colored vinyl edition of the concert, along with a 7″ featuring “Out of Sand,” a solo Eddie Vedder acoustic song recorded at Third Man’s Voice-o-Graph recording booth.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Pearl Jam would be among the inductees of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017, with the Seattle rockers earning the honor in their first year of eligibility.
