Did Odell Beckham Jr. Hanging With Justin Bieber Curse New York Giants?
Over the weekend, several members on the New York Giants travelled to Miami to party it up with Justin Bieber and Trey Songz on their day off. First, they were spotted at the nightclub Liv on Snapchat with the two musical artists. Then, star players Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz spent the following day soaking up the Miami sun while hanging out on a boat with Trey Songz before making the journey back home.
While there are much worse ways they could’ve rang in the New Year, the Giants have spent the last couple of days taking heat from national media for taking a mini-vacation the week before a wild card game against the Green Bay Packers. Even though head coach Ben McAdoo made it clear that the players were not working — they were also all present at practice on Tuesday – it didn’t stop the likes of Skip Bayless from criticizing their decision-making.
“This is a huge deal,” said Bayless. “This was a really, really bad idea starting with Odell Beckham and all the diva receivers on the New York Giants. It’s such a bad idea and a bad look, it now makes me re-think my position and prediction of yesterday that the Giants will go up to Lambeau Field and end Aaron Rodgers’ ‘historical’ – as [Shannon Sharpe] called it – “run.”
It doesn’t help that Giants fan are now concerned about a supposed Bieber curse since they wouldn’t be the first team to hang out with the pop star and then lose an important game – even if there isn’t quite enough evidence to prove that the curse is, in fact, real. But as we’ve learned in the past, some sports curses, no matter how much faith you put in them, can really come back to haunt a team. Just ask James Harden and the Houston Rockets.
At least they have a “disappointed” Eli Manning making dad jokes, though, to keep everything in perspective.
