Watch Travis Scott, Nav Team for Gritty ‘Beibs In the Trap’ Video
Travis Scott and Canadian singer Nav enter a world of gritty excess in the captivating new video for “Beibs In the Trap.”
The RJ Sanchez-directed clip captures the song’s syrupy glisten and finds the pair prowling through a sharp-lit, smoke-filled warehouse packed women wearing all-white outfits with a futuristic tinge. Elsewhere, Scott and Nav stand by while a silver sports car twists and turns around an empty hangar. But after all that excess, the clip ends on a chilling note as the camera closes in on one woman, ostensibly in the middle of an overdose, with blood dripping from her nose.
“Beibs In the Trap” appears on Scott’s most recent album, Birds In the Trap Sing McKnight, which arrived in September. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Scott explained the meaning behind the album title and its connection to his greater artistic aspirations. “I’m that person that I still feel confined, even though this year I’ve been on Number One albums,” he said. “I’ve been on two arena tours; I’m still confined to this fucking box. Kanye is the leading eagle, he’s like the president who stands up for kids like us who have ideas. There’s a lot of us out here that are birds, man. We all need to just fly.”
