Watch One Direction’s Niall Horan Perform ‘This Town’ on ‘Fallon’
One Direction‘s Niall Horan performed his folky debut single, “This Town,” Tuesday on The Tonight Show. The singer crooned his romantic lyrics over a sparse arrangement of fingerpicked acoustic guitar, chiming piano and galloping, brushed snare.
Horan released “This Town” in late September, marking his first solo venture since One Direction’s announced hiatus. The Greg Kurstin-produced song, which Horan co-wrote with Jamie Scott, Mike Needle and Daniel Bryer, peaked at Number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Timed to the single release, Horan also announced his solo deal with Capitol Records – the latest in a series of solo signings from One Direction members. Liam Payne also inked a deal with Capitol in July, and Harry Styles joined Columbia the previous month. Former member Zayn Malik has been signed with RCA since leaving the group last year. One Direction issued their most recent LP, Made in the A.M., in November 2015.
One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson launched his solo career this month by performing debut single “Just Hold On,” a collaboration with Steve Aoki, on The X Factor UK.
